In May of 1955, Anthony F. Moorman started a small accounting business and named it Moorman’s Accounting and Tax Service. The office was located within his residence on State Route 219 outside of Coldwater, OH. Initially, he began providing accounting and tax services to local businesses.

In 1971, Anthony’s two sons, Robert and Samuel purchased the business. Due to the continual growth of the business, the two sons decided to move to a new building located at 815 W. Main St., Coldwater, OH. The name was also changed to Moorman & Moorman at that time to reflect the new ownership. Because of significant growth, this building has been expanded several times since it was originally built.

In 1984, James W. Harting, CPA, was admitted as a partner to the firm. At this time, the firm name was changed to its present name, Moorman, Harting & Co. In 1992, Jim became the firm’s Managing Partner. and served in this position until 2023.

In 1991, Moorman, Harting purchased an additional accounting practice and opened an office in Celina, OH. In 1992, Celina operations moved to their existing location at 531 E. Market St. Alan E. Wolters, CPA, joined the firm in 1999 and began managing the firm’s Celina office. Alan became a partner in the firm in 2000.

In addition to Alan, Randall L. Kaup, Douglas M. Bertke and Daniel J. Koesters are also partners on the tax and accounting side of the firm.  Randy joined our Coldwater office in 2006, became a partner in 2009 and is now the firm’s Managing Partner. Doug joined our Celina office in 2007 and became a partner in 2015. Danny joined our Coldwater office in 2015 and became a partner in 2021.

To provide our clients with comprehensive wealthcare solutions, Moorman, Harting Financial Services, Ltd. was formed in 1999 to begin offering financial services. The financial services side of the business has grown quickly since, with a current team of nine financial advisors.  In 2023, Moorman Harting Financial Services added Mary Jane Koesters as a partner to assist with positioning our financial services practice for continued growth in the future.   Moorman Harting Financial Services is affiliated with Avantax Wealth Management.  Securities offered through Avantax Investment Services^SM, member FINRA, SIPC.
